[livejournal.com profile] zinaya_y2kewel: I'm crusing the jkrowling website. That woman makes no sense at all half the time, lol.
Me: heh
Me: her website is pretty fun, though
Her: Yeah, I'm reading through all the new stuff.
Me: I haven't been on there in a while
Her: I think the last time I was on was before HBP
Her: someone asked if Snape was Luna's father...because we know that blue eyes, blond hair, and being loopy are Snape traits. :-P
Me: haha
Me: [livejournal.com profile] mugglegirl0908 and I were talking about how wizarding genetics makes no sense
Her: They really dont.
Me: Bellatrix - black hair + Narcissa - blonde hair = full sisters HOW?
Me: so Snape could -totally- be Luna's father
Her: Have you seen the Black family tree? A lot of the people on there had kids at 13
Me: *snerk*
Her: Someone should buy JKR a calculator, seriously.
Her: Oh, and Bella and Narcissa are full sisters because that tree is inbreeding central. That is my new excuse for everything.
Her: You just know Draco has 6 toes.
Me: hehe
Her: It was cool that she took the time to draw up a family tree but it's pretty crazy.
Me: yeah
Her: So...any theories on if Sirius is coming back? We need some HP voodoo!
Me: I think not
Me: Jo seems to be pretty convinced that Harry will have to stand alone at the end
Me: so I think Ron and Hermione will get taken out of the action somehow in the next book, too, though prolly not killed outright
Her: Pfft, what does she know? I've learned from the Harry/Hermione people that jkr doesn't know jack.
Me: *cracks up*
Me: oh, I'm totally quoting that in my lj

I think my biggest beef with the Narcissa and Bellatrix hair thing isn't so much that the genetics for those two must be weird - because that does actually happen, sometimes, as your anecdotal evidence makes clear. It's that JKR doesn't seem to have put that much thought into it (which, you know, really only drives me nuts because I'm the kind of author who draws diagrams and stuff. So it's all on me, and not her, but still!). I mean, why do so many of the married couples have matching hair, even when it means that siblings don't? And why do so many people have black hair or black eyes, when hair and eyes are generally much more likely to be very dark shades of brown than truly black?

And yes, obviously Snape is better looking and more attractive... ;-)
