Lest You Think Me Normal

Just in case you guys have started thinking of my culinary habits as normal (I can't imagine any of you have. Chicken livers, for god's sake!), I'd just like to announce what I had for dinner tonight:

Three poached eggs.

One cold leftover steak (approx. 4oz).

Mountain Dew.

Yes, all at the same time. Two of the three (guess which!) were even in the same bowl!

Hah! Beat that!

(incidentally, the writing is really kicking my ass tonight, so if you want to leave some sort of encouraging word while you either tell me that your dinner was weirder or that I should probably not be allowed to feed myself, that would be swell)

Steak and eggs sounds quite normal. (It was steak and eggs rather than either of the other two options, right? I hope?) Chicken livers are pretty normal in this house too, even if I personally can't stand them.

My dinner was definitely weirder than yours. Dad made nachos, and his nachos do not resemble nachos. Chips, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, black beans, salsa, and jar "cheese".

I'm not sure if this counts as encouraging, but I'm trying to do final edits on a story that is Not Cooperating myself at the moment, so at least you're not alone in your frustration.

It was more that the steak was cold leftovers and the eggs were freshly poached than the combination of steak and eggs itself that I thought was funny.

Those nachos sound horrifying, though. Jar cheese? AUGH.

They really are. We've convinced my father to by Tostitos cheese rather than OkyeDoke, or however it's spelled. It really is an improvement, which is a sad, sad thing.

Incidentally, if you see a story from me tomorrow and have a moment to read it, I'd really love some feedback on it from the point of view of someone who won't be all excited just because of the pairing. It's a bit experimental for me, and I really have no idea if the style works.

I'll keep my eye out!
