Lest You Think Me Normal

Just in case you guys have started thinking of my culinary habits as normal (I can't imagine any of you have. Chicken livers, for god's sake!), I'd just like to announce what I had for dinner tonight:
Three poached eggs.
One cold leftover steak (approx. 4oz).
Mountain Dew.
Yes, all at the same time. Two of the three (guess which!) were even in the same bowl!
Hah! Beat that!
(incidentally, the writing is really kicking my ass tonight, so if you want to leave some sort of encouraging word while you either tell me that your dinner was weirder or that I should probably not be allowed to feed myself, that would be swell)

Date: 2006-08-22 07:14 am (UTC)you could always do like the teddy, Robyn. or, you know, not. but at least you're kinda almost being productive. Consider this - i have actually written the "orison" drabble you set me to. i just sort of hate it right now, but am too lazy to do more than change a word here or there as it suits me. it's been open on the desktop for days and days. so no matter what, just know i may be more of a writing slacker. i'm jus' sayin'.

Date: 2006-08-22 07:27 am (UTC)Now if you put the mountain dew on the eggs, of course, that's another thing entirely.

Date: 2006-08-22 07:46 am (UTC)Those donut peaches invade every meal now. Last night it was fries, veggies, and peaches (yes, I need to get to the store for actual meat). :p

Date: 2006-08-22 07:54 am (UTC)My dinner was definitely weirder than yours. Dad made nachos, and his nachos do not resemble nachos. Chips, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, black beans, salsa, and jar "cheese".
I'm not sure if this counts as encouraging, but I'm trying to do final edits on a story that is Not Cooperating myself at the moment, so at least you're not alone in your frustration.

Date: 2006-08-22 07:56 am (UTC)Those nachos sound horrifying, though. Jar cheese? AUGH.

Date: 2006-08-22 08:11 am (UTC)Incidentally, if you see a story from me tomorrow and have a moment to read it, I'd really love some feedback on it from the point of view of someone who won't be all excited just because of the pairing. It's a bit experimental for me, and I really have no idea if the style works.

Date: 2006-08-22 09:00 am (UTC)My dinner was rather boring. Roast veggies - being potato, onion, carrot, parsnip, kumara, pumpkin and yams, drenched in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. (And MD on the side... mmmm.... MD).
But lunch was weird. 2x Reeces giant peanut butter cups, pastrami, a custard yogurt, diet ginger beer and some double chocolate oreos. In that order. (but not from the same container).

Date: 2006-08-23 06:24 pm (UTC)Man, I wish thry still sold Mountain Dew in England, if you ask me, it was a huge loss to the nation when they stopped importing it

Date: 2006-08-23 06:26 pm (UTC)Oh noes!
Ok, that's a great big tick in the "con" box on the "should I allow Karen to convince me to attempt graduate studies in the UK?" pro/con list...
(I'm mostly joking. I could always ship it!)

Date: 2006-08-23 06:41 pm (UTC)Having said that, I've just found a site that sells it (at about 70p a can, I'm so tempted to buy some...) so there is no reason not to do graduate studies in the UK! (Also, I'm reliably assured that UK coca cola has more caffeine in it, so there's sort of an alternative). No reason at all.

Date: 2006-08-23 07:54 pm (UTC)1 can of Safeway brand Garbanzo Beans
1 Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
1 Beef Chalupa Supreme
44oz Diet Pepsi.
Order was PBJ, Chalupa, Beans, soda was intermittent. Yes, I planned to eat all this at the same time. No, I didn't mix-match items.
