revena: Drawing of me (Oh Noes!!!)

And the Renovations Continue

Mom's big accomplishments today included stepping in paint less often and painting most of the new bedroom by herself, including the bits that are out of reach for both of us, since she isn't as scared to get up on ladders as I am (yeah, yeah. I know my phobias are silly).

Jameson's big accomplishment was installing a super-rad ceiling fan (this one, which did not come cheap but was totally worth it for the glee that it inspires in Jimmy) in place of the hideous white monstrosity that was in the living room before.

My big accomplishment was sitting down hard right on top of part of the old ceiling fan! You guys, I have one helluva bruise, let me tell you.

So if you see me sometime soon and I'm leaning conspicuously to the left whilst sitting, that's why.

That ceiling fan looks pretty awesome!

I hope being scared of ladders isn't silly - I'm scared of them, and I'm not silly! *laugh* (Okay, I'm totally silly, but LADDERS CAN KILL!)

I hope your bottom feels better soon. *grin*

Man, it hurts when I sit, walk and even stand.

Remember, kids: don't sit on ceiling fans!

I'm also scared of ladders, a bit. I'm glad the house is going well!

I just sent you an email, and I wanted to warn you of it because I have a hotmail address which usually gets me sent straight to the junk mail box. Feel free to ignore it anyway, because I know you're busy, but I thought I'd give you heads up that I'm not spam!

I got it! ...but haven't had time to really read it. But maybe tomorrow!

It is worth it to pay more for something that you will have to use and look at every day for years.

I also made other people get up on ladders - despite painting five tall rooms, and making a big f'n deal out of buying an 8' ladder for painting downstairs, I never got up on it once. I'm not afraid of heights - I'm afraid of falling, which is a lot more likely off the ladder than off the Empire State Building.

I figure that lighting fixtures are worth shelling out for, since they make such a big impact in a room.

And, yeah, the ladder thing is definitely about falling rather than heights. ;-)

Your ceiling fan is clearly FROM SPACE! I dig it.

My dad was saying it looked like it was from The Jetsons.

Installing fans is REALLY HARD. Most of the work is over your head, and those suckers weigh like, a large dog. But not as cute. Jameson has my admiration.

(Also, I tried to do it without turning off the breaker, because I was lazy. THis is a bad idea)

He actually did it without turning off the breaker, too. I was really happy that he didn't electrocute himself.
