Fridays Off
Mar. 10th, 2006 10:11 pmSo this whole "not working on Fridays" plan is going pretty well, so far! Since I didn't have to get up at any particular time today, I stayed up hella late last night, in grand authorial tradition, and got a nice chunk of the next letter in
kphoebe's and my epistolary novel written. I'm gonna try to repeat that performance tonight... Keep your fingers crossed for me.
When I (eventually) got up today, Jimmy and I had a nice lunch together, and then did some much-needed grocery shopping. Did you know that March is Frozen Food Month? On the one hand, that's almost the silliest thing I've ever heard - but on the other hand, it means that Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones frozen dinners were on super-duper sale today. Huzzah! I am going to lose my Thesis Weight, I swear.
I also did some not-terribly-necessary shopping today, by which I mean I went to a toy store. Since taking up OoaK, I've gotten to the point where I do that at least once a week, so I don't actually buy something every time. I only get new dolls if there's a good sale, or a new one that I particularly like.
Today, though, I branched out into whole new realms of toy-modding dorkery. I've been looking at doll hair sites lately, because I need to order some hair to re-root a Legolas Ken I've got (he's gonna be Emlyn. Eventually.), and I'm seeing pics of not just fashion dolls being re-rooted and repainted, but also My Little Ponies.
...So I got a white My Little Pony today. She's got rainbow-colored hair at the moment, but she won't for long. I'm gonna re-root her with jet black hair, and do some dramatic eyeliner stuff, and then paint an ankh or upside-down cross or something on her rump (where there is currently a sparkly butterfly), and she will be Gothic Pony.
I find this idea hilarious. Probably I need mental help.
So what's new with y'all?
