OMG THE AWESOME

So I arrived in Madison today, and kphoebe, seeksadventure and I tripped off (after cabell's cat had molested my sandal for a while) to our writers' workshop and it was so worth it.

I am still a little squeeful. Just a little!

Anyway, the workshop was great - very positive, and I think very constructive. I took loads of notes, and I'm feeling really good about the work Karen and I have done on Seen and Spoken so far and really excited about the work we have yet to do. Yay!

After the workshop, we all (and I think it's worth noting that I include Elizabeth Bear in "we all") went down to the bar for a drink and a most awesome discussion of many interesting things raging from the deflowering trope in fanfic (guess who brought that up?), to made-up languages, to the male gaze of trees. I had a fantastic time, and met all sorts of wonderful people (Suzette Haden Elgin! OMG!).

Eventually, we came back to the hotel room (we found Jimmy first - or rather he found us), and had some pizza and dress-trying-on, and general silliness, and then got all dressed up and went out and got our registration packets and then DANCED THE NIGHT AWAY OMG.

kphoebe can groove, man. As can seeksadventure.

OMG I MET kphoebe! We are in the same room RIGHT NOW.

I don't think I'll be back to normal, non-caps mode for some time. Sorry!
