What I Did With My Week

There's a new doll up in my Etsy store - one without a backstory, this time. Here's a teaser for the one I'll probably be finishing next:

Cristal Moonstar is half-faerie, which means she’s a lot prettier than full humans and has wings and stuff. But she’s also, like, really conflicted about not really being part of either the human or faerie realms, you know? She spends a lot of time writing poetry about her feelings while sitting in her bedroom in the near-dark (her glowing wings provide just enough light for the poetry-writing) and listening to all of your favorite bands.

As I sit here in the dark
Trying to listen to my heart
I am so much more alone
Than anyone has ever known…

There's been a lot of stuff going on for me lately, so I've been pretty quiet. My classes for the teaching certification program started. So far that's going well. Also, our landlady kinda-sorta tried to evict us, and then tried to make us pay for her attorney's fees. Thanks to my awesome dad, we didn't have to. Rockin'. Sitting around in eviction court for an hour or so and listening to the cases before ours made me really sad, though. I read through all of the landlord-tenant laws before becoming a renter, but it's clear that many people don't, and I was sad to see so many people getting taken advantage of (even in small ways) because they don't know their rights. I want to do something about it, but I dunno what, yet.
