1. I'm re-reading The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston, for my women's lit class. This is read-through number... uh... seven? Suffice it to say, I've read this book many times.

1. a) In high school, I choreographed a dance called "The Dance of No-Name Woman," which was set to some music by the Kronos Quartet.

1. b) The actual song was recommended to me during the choreography process by my teacher, Ms. Oden, who gave me a CD (Tan Dun: Ghost Opera, for those of you who may wish to give it a listen) to take home and listen to. I realised as I listened, paying special attention to the tracks she had marked, that I had actually heard that song performed live in rehearsal some years previous. The wailing sounds which worked so well for my dance, for Kingston's book, were produced by drawing violin bows across cymbals which were held in glass bowls of water.

2. Jameson had a dream last night that he cut his hair, and everyone hated him for it. Not the haircut, him. Except for Thomas, this little kid in our martial arts class. Which makes sense, because Thomas very clearly wants to be exactly like Jameson when he grows up, and I think that he'd forgive Jimmy anything. Even a bad haircut.

3. I've got an insane craving for ramen right now. I rather hope that Esme does, too. When I cook it for her, and eat the leftovers, I don't feel quite as much as though I'm transgressing against all that is nutritionally right. I'm also very tempted just at the moment by some leftover ribs that are in my fridge, but I'd have a hard time eating them one-handed, and I don't want to get barbecue sauce on my new copy of The Woman Warrior. It would clash with the neon pink highlighting.
