A Fairly Grumpy Day

The first sign that today was not going to go as well as one might hope was that I overslept my alarm.
Not by much, thankfully. I still had plenty of time to get ready and out the door before my first class, but I was a bit more rushed than I usually like. Presumably, I overslept the alarm because I was up too late last night. I'm not sure why it is that my body refuses to register that it needs sleep at night, only to succumb to drowsiness repeatedly during lectures at school or during filing at work, but that pattern was followed today, as well.
After nodding off through most of my Roman art and archaelogy class, my Homer class and my dreadful Nats class, I came home to grab some lunch and print out my assignment for intro to gay and lesbian lit. The lunch and printing went great, but then I couldn't find -any- of my staplers or hole-punches. A little frustrating, but no biggie.
That class, at least, was not in the least bit soporific, and I really enjoyed our first day with the professor. Who is, by the way, totally hot. Totally, totally hot. And also gay. Which is probably just as well, because I really ought not to be thinking about how hot any of my professors are, but if I'm gonna do it, at least I can do it movie-star-crush style, and lust after only that which is wholly unattainable.
Anyway, it took me longer to get home than it ought to have, and I ended up running late enough to make it not worth it to try and get to my weightwatchers meeting. Damn. So I decided to try and salvage what was left of the evening, and pick up both Jameson and some dinner.
So it was after picking up Jameson, on the way to picking up dinner, that I was in, of course, a car accident.
Is this happening to everyone this time of year, or what?
Fortunately, it was very low-speed, and quite clearly someone else's fault. She ran into me while I was stopped at a (red) light, and pushed me into the car ahead of me. The only car with any visible damage is mine, and all I've got is a little ding on the bumper. Not bad. I've got a mild headache and a bruise on my right knee to match the one on the left, but all in all it was a very un-scary sort of accident.
Still, I am now fairly grumpy. If you've got a funny story to share, or a new webcomic to hook me on or something, I could totally use a little pick-me-up.

Date: 2005-01-20 06:06 pm (UTC)I've complained a bit about NATs (http://www.livejournal.com/users/revena/17744.html) courses before... Basically, they're the general education science courses you're required to take by my university if you're not actually majoring or minoring in the sciences. The gened courses in humanities are, for some reason, way less horrible, and I got all of those out of the way early on. This'll be the last of my NATs (which is short for Natural Science, I think) courses. Hooray!
