I'm home sick from work today. I'll let my new Ioan-Gruffudd-playing-the-part-of-Arkelga-Tuvari icon express the sense of dismay that's connected with that.

Ugh, I hate being ill.

On the bright side, perhaps I'll get some things done around the house in between all of the napping and frantic lunges for the restroom.

By arm herpes, do you mean that you've got eczema or hives or something? Because I've got a fair amount of experience with skin disorders - might be able to recommend something to help.

Well, I went to the doctor a couple of days ago and she said it looked like an allergic reaction to something and prescribed a topical skin ointment stuff (Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment usp, 0.5%) and it's helping some. The big enlightenment came when I went to my Moldmaking class Thursday afternoon and one of the other girls had the exact same (less severe) rash in the same spot. We figure we both leaned on a table that had some sort of residue from one of the myriad of odd chemicals we're using in there. It's getting better, but still itchy.
The best part is that the show opened last night so I'm running around in the evenings with plastic wrap on my arms so the petrolium jelly consistancy ointment doesn't get on their costumes. I look likea total dweeb, but it works.
If it doesn't get better in a few days I'm going to call the company we get our moldmaking stuff from and see what they say.

Hmm, yep, sounds like a chemical burn.

I was going to suggest some ointments that work for me when I've got eczema or really dry skin, but if you've got something prescribed, that's no doubt better.

What kills me about the trip to the doctor, is that she didn't know any of the stuff about the moldmaking class because _I_ didn't know at the time. She did however see Megan, the other girl with the same rash, just THREE HOURS earlier and didn't make the connection, apparently. They even ask questions about your major and stuff like that, because it's the student clinic. I only know that because Megan and I discussed it pretty thoroughly and made all sorts of fun connections.
