This Week on Chuck

Dude. WTF is wrong with Chuck? I get that he's the goofy, lovable everygeek and all that, and he's supposed to make mistakes that his real spy counterparts don't for both comedic and dramatic effect, but why does it have to be the same mistake over and over? Stop ignoring your handlers. Stop trusting people you have no reason to trust. JESUS.
What really irritated me about it this time around was that he only finally got the idea about not trusting Jill because she seemed to be seriously considering shooting Sarah. Not because she betrayed him repeatedly. Not because she participated in locking Sarah and Casey up and then stood around while they were threatened by a bomb. Not because she's fucking Fulcrum - because she sorta-kinda threatened Sarah directly. I feel like I can't even credit Chuck with finally getting a clue, because it's all about his infatuation with Sarah.
The other thing that chafed me somewhat about this episode: Is it just me, or is Casey getting less awesome with time? It seems like Sarah can take baddies out on her own, but Casey always needs help. And I think the character ought to be more hardcore than that. Next week looks promising for him, though.
On the good side: Big Mike's hero moment? Brilliant. Ellie's reaction to Awesome's parents coming and then not for Thanksgiving? Just on the funny side of over-the-top. Lester and Morgan and the hand-on-the-glass thing? Frighteningly cute.
And then. UNLEASH THE CASEY.

Date: 2008-11-25 03:43 am (UTC)I'm watching Lester, where Morgan and Lester are adorable and have non-potentially-lethal shenanigans that don't put national security at risk. And Jeff is there too.
