A Good Day

Any day wherein you see anteaters mating and then, within the same hour, a pair of zebras going at it, and then one of your best friends buys you a narwhal...is a good day.

Listening to a toddler describe all zoo animals as "kitty" (which includes bears) "monkey," or "elephant" (rhinos and anteaters! Who knew?) also helps.

Taxonomy for kids... whole bunch of things count as "kitty, Monkey or elephant"- throw in bird fish and bug and you have covered most of the life forms in that part of town- possibly the whole planet.
Kids are smart.

Sounds like our son when he was that age...all animals were "woofs" and all desert was "pie."

Going to the zoo with little kids is pretty awesome. I kind've like going even by myself, but the reactions of small people add an extra layer of entertainment.
